Our Story
It started with Amber. It became Team K9.
Amber was the yellow lab who made everything personal: the walks, the training, the muddy rides home, the way a dog can quietly take over your whole heart. Team K9 exists for people who know that feeling and want gear worthy of the dog beside them.
The Beginning
One yellow lab changed the way I saw dogs.
I was 10 years old when Amber came home, and I was instantly obsessed. I checked out Dog Training for Dummies from the library and taught her to sit, stay, and give paw. She was grateful for the treats. I was grateful for the kind of companionship only a dog can give.
As I got older, I became a dog walker and saw the same thing everywhere. People lit up when they talked about their dogs. The love I had for Amber was not unusual. It was everywhere. We were all on the same team.
The first ideas came from dogs I knew.
One friend's dog pulled so hard on walks that every outing started with choking and frustration. I kept thinking there had to be a better way to give owners control without putting all that pressure on the dog.
Another friend's car was a disaster in the way only dog people understand: hair in the seats, muddy paws, scratches, and a dog sliding around in the back. That mess stayed with me too.
Team K9 grew like a family business should.
An 18-year-old part-time freelancer became our Head of Growth. My college roommate became Head of Community. My brother became Head of Operations.
We are family, friends, brothers, and dog lovers, and we still treat the work that way. Every order has a dog on the other side of it.

The best part of Team K9 is seeing the gear leave our hands and become part of someone else's routine: the dog in the new harness, the clean back seat after a muddy day, the setup that finally makes a ride feel easier.
More Than Gear
"Team K9 did something they didn't have to."
After Rob's house burned down, taking most of what he had, Team K9 replaced a harness he had bought almost a year earlier. His dog Shelby had saved his life by keeping him from falling asleep after 4 AM. Rob later shared Two Strikes wearing the replacement harness.
Stories like Rob's remind us what kind of company we are trying to be. Gear matters most when there is a real person, a real dog, and a real life wrapped around it.
Giving Back
Some dogs are still waiting for their person.
Team K9 donates a portion of every sale to dog rescues and shelters. Since 2018, we have highlighted thousands of harnesses donated, including 10,000+ harnesses and 168,385+ total donations.
It is one more way to honor the dogs already in our homes by helping the ones still waiting for theirs.
