Our Story

It started with a yellow lab named Amber.

I was 10 years old when we brought her home, and I was instantly obsessed. I checked out Dog Training for Dummies from the library and taught her to sit, stay, and give paw. She was grateful for the treats, but I was grateful for something bigger—the kind of companionship only a dog can give.

As I grew older, Amber and I grew closer, and I became certain: dogs are the most fascinating creatures in the world.

I also saw how dogs made everyone feel.

As a teenager, I became a dog walker. I watched my friends light up when they talked about their pups. I saw the universal truth—the love I had for Amber wasn't unique. It was everywhere. We were all on the same team.

Then I saw the problems.

One friend's dog would pull so hard on walks, choking herself on her collar every single time. Watching that struggle planted a seed: What if there was a harness that actually stopped the pulling without choking? That question became our no-pull harness.

Another friend would pick me up in his car—dog hair everywhere, his seats destroyed from his dog sliding around. That frustration became our car seat cover.

In 2018, Team K9 was born.

I knew there were millions of people who loved their dogs as much as I loved Amber. People who deserved better gear. So I started Team K9 with a simple mission: build excellent products and serve an incredible community of dog lovers.

Building the team.

I hired an 18-year-old part-time freelancer. Today, he's our Head of Growth.

I hired my college roommate. Today, he's our Head of Community.

I hired my brother. Today, he's our Head of Operations.

Together, we're family, friends, brothers, and dog lovers—grateful every single day to work in the greatest industry in the world.
