Welcome to Team K9 LLC (“Team K9,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit teamk9.com, make a purchase, or interact with our services.

Personal Information You Provide

  • Account login information (if you create one)

  • Order history, preferences, and communications

  • Names and words you type for personalized products, such as your dog’s name, the text for a custom patch, or a phone number you ask us to print (see Section 3)

  • Answers you choose to give to our surveys, such as your dog’s name and breed and how you heard about us (see Section 3)

  • Photos you upload to our Dog Star Portrait Studio, and the portraits and other creations made from them (see Section 18)

Information Automatically Collected

  • IP address, browser type, operating system, and device data

  • Pages visited, time spent, and referral source

  • General location (city/state) for currency or shipping purposes

  • Cookies and other tracking technologies

⚠️ Payment Security: We never store your full credit card number. All payment data is handled by PCI-compliant processors.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Process and fulfill orders

  • Verify payments and manage shipping

  • Provide customer support

  • Send order confirmations and updates

  • Improve our website and marketing

  • Prevent fraud and maintain security

  • Send marketing messages with your consent

  • Make personalized products with the names and words you give us

  • Tailor what we send and show you using answers you choose to give us, such as your dog’s name

Dog Names, Custom Text and Survey Answers

Some products ask you to type in a name or a few words, and after an order we may ask a few optional questions about your dog. This part explains, in plain terms, what we do with what you tell us.

Names and words for personalized products

  • What we collect: what you type for the item, such as your dog’s name, the words for a custom patch, and a phone number if you choose to have one printed.

  • What we do with it: make your item, show you a preview of it, and help you with that order.

  • Who handles it: it is kept with your order and sent to the partner who makes the item.

  • Having a phone number printed on an item does not sign you up for texts or calls from us.

  • Section 18 also applies to custom text and designs, so we may show finished custom items in our marketing. We do not show a phone number that is printed on an item.

Survey answers

Our surveys are optional, and you can skip any question. Depending on the survey, we may ask your dog’s name, breed and size, how many dogs you have and whether you have other pets, what you plan to use your order for, what you drive (for products that fit a vehicle), how you heard about us, which other brands you looked at, and whether you would like to share photos or videos of your dog with us.

We keep your answers with your customer profile on our email platform. We use them to:

  • Tailor what we send and show you, such as using your dog’s name or suggesting the right size or product. Marketing messages are sent only if you have agreed to them.

  • Help you faster when you contact us.

  • Understand our customers as a group, so we can decide which products, guides and advertising to make.

We do not sell your survey answers. If you tell us you would like to share photos or videos, we may contact you about it.

Your choices

You can ask us what names and answers we hold for you, have them corrected, or have them deleted, at any time by emailing info@teamk9.com (see Section 13). Names and words that are part of an order stay with our record of that order, as described in Section 12.

4. Consent & Your Rights

When you provide information to complete a purchase, you consent to its use for that purpose only.

For marketing or other optional communications, we will always ask for your explicit consent or provide a clear opt-out option.

Withdraw Consent Anytime:

  • Click “unsubscribe” in our emails

  • Reply STOP to any text messages

  • Email info@teamk9.com to update your preferences

5. Information Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We only share data with trusted third parties who help us operate our business, such as:

  • Shipping carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx)

  • Payment processors (Shopify Payments, PayPal)

  • Email and SMS platforms

  • Analytics and marketing partners

  • Printing and fulfillment partners who make personalized items you order

  • Providers of the artificial intelligence (AI) tools that create portraits from a photo you upload (see Section 18)

We may also disclose information if required by law or as part of a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition.

6. Third-Party Services & Links

Our site may include links to external websites or services operated by third parties.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, or content of those sites. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies before providing personal information.

7. Shopify & Payment Processing

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc., which provides the e-commerce platform enabling us to sell our products.
Your data is stored securely on Shopify’s systems, protected by encryption and PCI-DSS standards.

8. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device to improve your experience. We use cookies to:

  • Keep items in your cart

  • Save preferences and session data

  • Analyze site usage and performance

  • Personalize content and offers

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Do Not Track Signals: Because no standard exists for DNT compliance, we currently do not respond to DNT signals. You can control tracking through cookie settings and opt-out links.

9. SMS / Text Messaging

By providing your phone number, you consent to receive automated messages from Team K9. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

We do not sell or share phone numbers.

10. Email Marketing

If you opt in, we may send promotional updates, offers, and announcements.
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.

Transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates) are still sent as needed.

We use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, firewalls, and access controls to protect your information.
All payment transactions are processed under PCI-DSS compliance.

⚠️ Your Role: Use strong passwords and log out on shared devices.

Data Breach Notification:
If a data breach occurs, we will promptly notify affected users and take all reasonable steps to investigate and mitigate the incident.

12. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary for:

  • Completing transactions

  • Providing customer service

  • Meeting legal or tax obligations

  • Resolving disputes

14. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents may:

  • Request deletion of their personal data

  • Opt out of data sales (Team K9 does not sell data)

  • Receive equal service regardless of exercising these rights

California residents may also use the footer link labeled “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” or email support@teamk9.com to make an opt-out request.

15. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have additional rights under GDPR, including:

  • Access, correction, deletion, and portability

  • Restriction or objection to processing

  • The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

We process your data only when necessary for contract fulfillment, consent, legitimate interests, or legal compliance.

16. Children’s Privacy

Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or under 16 in certain regions).

If you believe we have collected a child’s information, please contact info@teamk9.com to request deletion.

Your data may be stored and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.

Data Storage & Jurisdiction:
All information is stored in the U.S. By using our site, you consent to these transfers.

This Policy and any disputes shall be governed by the laws of Wyoming, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

18. User Content & Custom Designs

If you submit custom text, images, or designs for our products, you grant Team K9 a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that content for order fulfillment, quality control, and marketing.

You confirm that your submissions do not infringe any third-party rights.

Dog Star Portrait Studio: Your Photos and Portraits

Our Dog Star Portrait Studio turns a photo of your dog into portraits and other creations, free of charge. This part explains, in plain terms, what happens to that photo and what you allow us to do with it.

What we collect

  • The photo you choose. If people or other pets are in it, they are in the copy we receive.

  • Your dog’s name and whether they are a boy or a girl, if you tell us.

  • Your email address, if you give it to us or arrive at the Studio from an order.

  • What you do in the Studio, such as which portraits you view, save, share or order.

What we do with it

  • Find your dog in the photo and create the portraits, songs, cards and videos you ask for. These are made with artificial intelligence (AI) tools, so they are AI-generated artwork, not photographs.

  • Show them to you on your dog’s page, and keep that page so you can come back to it.

  • Show you previews of products with your dog on them, and make the print files for anything you order.

  • Email you about the portraits you made: where to find them, and offers on things made with them. If we have your email from an order or because you gave it to us in the Studio, we may send these even if you have not signed up for our other marketing emails. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to stop at any time. This applies to portraits made on or after October 13, 2026; for portraits made before that date we email only people who have agreed to marketing emails.

  • Use your photo and the creations made from it in our marketing and to improve our products, as described under “What you allow us to do” below.

What you allow us to do

The Studio is free to use. In return, when you upload a photo you give Team K9 a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, copy, edit, display and publish that photo, your dog’s name, and the portraits and other creations made from it. This includes using them in our advertising, on our website, in our emails and on social media, showing them to other customers, and using them to develop and improve our products and tools, including the AI tools that make the portraits. We do not owe you payment or credit for these uses. You keep every right you have in your own photo.

Who handles it

Your photo and the creations made from it are processed by service providers who work for us: the companies that run the AI tools, our printing and fulfillment partner (for items you order), our website and file hosting providers, and our email platform. We share only what each needs to do its job for us. When we use a portrait in our marketing, it is seen wherever that marketing runs, such as on our website, in our emails and on advertising and social media platforms.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your photo or your portraits to other companies.

  • We do not publish your email address, phone number or home address with them.

Who can see your dog’s page

Your dog’s page opens only with its own private link. Other people can open that page only if you share it, and you can stop sharing at any time. Portraits we feature in our marketing are shown separately from your page.

How long we keep it, and how to delete it

We keep your photo and your dog’s creations while your dog’s page exists, so you can return to them, download them or order from them. You can ask us to delete your photo, your portraits and your dog’s page at any time by emailing info@teamk9.com. We will delete them within 30 days and stop using them in new marketing. Marketing that has already been published, printed or shared by other people cannot always be recalled. We may keep records of orders you placed, as described in Section 12.

Photos with people in them

Please choose a photo you have the right to use and to give us these permissions for. The Studio is about your dog: if people appear in your photo, we will not feature them in our advertising without their permission.

19. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Team K9 LLC and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, resulting from your use of our website, products, or services.

All content is provided “as is.” Your use is at your own risk.

20. Dispute Resolution & Arbitration

Any dispute related to this Privacy Policy or your use of our services shall be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

You agree that disputes will be handled individually, not as part of a class action.
Arbitration will take place in Wyoming, USA, and the decision may be enforced in any court of competent jurisdiction.

21. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.
Changes take effect immediately upon posting.

Last Updated reflects the most recent revision date; Effective Date indicates when this version first took effect.
We encourage you to review this Policy regularly to stay informed.
