Our Story
Family-owned, dog-obsessed, built for the beautiful mess.
Team K9 started when our founder brought home Amber, a yellow lab who turned one kid into a lifelong dog person. Since 2018, that standard has shaped practical gear for loud first minutes, muddy back seats, hot back rows, and dogs who are stronger than they look.
The Amber Standard
It started with Amber.
I was 10 years old when Amber came home, and I was instantly obsessed. I checked out Dog Training for Dummies from the library and taught her to sit, stay, and give paw. She was grateful for the treats. I was grateful for the kind of companionship only a dog can give.
As I got older, I became a dog walker and saw the same thing everywhere. My friends lit up when they talked about their dogs. The love I had for Amber was not unusual. It was the point. We were all on the same team.
The problems came from real dogs.
One friend's dog pulled so hard on walks that her collar pressed into the wrong place every time. That planted the harness idea: better leverage without choking.
Another friend's car told its own story: hair everywhere, seats wrecked, dog sliding around in the back. That frustration became the seat-cover path.
The team stayed personal.
Team K9 grew with people close enough to care about the standard: an 18-year-old part-time freelancer became Head of Growth, a college roommate became Head of Community, and my brother became Head of Operations.
Family, friends, brothers, and dog lovers. That part matters because customers are trusting real people with the dogs they plan their lives around.
Built From Friction
Start with the moment. Then choose the gear.
The best Team K9 pages already do this well: the Better Walk Blueprint starts before the sidewalk, the fan page starts with the back row, and the FAQ/contact pages make fit and support part of the experience.
The first minute gets loud.
Harnesses and the Better Walk Blueprint help dog parents create clearer leash moments without collar-only pressure.
The back seat takes the hit.
Seat covers and travel gear are built around hair, mud, claws, sliding paws, side doors, and cleanup.
The dog rides behind the cool air.
Backseat airflow matters because the row where the dog sits can feel different from the front seat.
What We Make
Practical gear for the parts of dog life people actually repeat.
Harnesses
For dogs who pull, owners who need clearer leverage, and routines that start before the door opens.
Seat covers
For hair, mud, claws, side flaps, sagging covers, and the ride home from the place your dog loved.
Cooling fans
For moving more air into the row where the dog actually rides during warm-weather drives.
Customer Proof
What it looks like after checkout.
The best reviews show the jobs customers count on Team K9 for: better walks, cleaner back seats, back-row airflow, fit help, and support when the first try needs a second pass.

More Than Gear
"Team K9 did something they didn't have to."
After Rob's house burned down, taking most of what he had, Team K9 replaced a harness he had bought almost a year earlier. His dog Shelby had saved his life by keeping him from falling asleep after 4 AM. Rob later shared Two Strikes wearing the replacement harness.
That story belongs on the About page because it says more than any polished claim can: when the pack needs us, we show up like people, not a faceless store.
Giving Back
Dogs beyond the order matter too.
Team K9 donates a portion of every sale to dog rescues and shelters. Since 2018, the brand has highlighted thousands of harnesses donated, including 10,000+ harnesses and 168,385+ total donations.
We keep the latest rescue and shelter details on the donations page so the mission stays current instead of becoming a stale badge.

Welcome To The Team
You would do anything for them. We build for that kind of person.
The ones adjusting the harness one more time, opening the back door slowly, brushing hair off the seat before work, checking the air in the dog row, and laughing because somehow the mess is still the best part of the day.
