Customer story · Tactical No-Pull Harness
Molly used to pull so hard she'd choke herself. Then came her first walk in this harness.
Does your dog pull your arm out of the socket on every walk?
Amanda M. filmed that first walk: “you can see the loose leash! What a miracle!!”

See sizes & today's offerEvery walk started the same way
Amanda M. has a dog named Molly. Before this harness, a walk with Molly meant one thing: being pulled.
Normally she would be pulling my arm out of the socket or choking herself.
Your arm, or her throat. On every walk, one of you was paying for it.
If you have a puller, you know the rest. You brace before the door opens. You wrap the leash around your hand. You cut the walk short, because it's work, not fun.
And it isn't only big dogs. Owners told us:
Mochi, our very strong 30 lb Frenchie would literally pull me off of my feet on walks, and I'm 6'1" 210 pounds!
I have been struggling with my power breed bully pulling me down the street when we walk.
The real problem isn't your dog. It's where the leash pulls.
Here's the part most of us never think about.
A collar puts the whole pull in one place: the throat. When a dog lunges on a collar, the leash yanks at the neck, and your shoulder takes the rest. The dog coughs and chokes. You get dragged. Nobody wins.
Owners described what that looked like before they switched:
She pulled so hard on her collar she actually needed a vet visit.
I got tired of her choking herself out on her martingale when she smelled something that she wanted to lunge at!
This is such a better solution to his prong collar that I was always afraid would hurt his neck.
A dog that's pulling isn't trying to hurt anyone. It just wants to get there. The question is where that pull lands.
One owner put it in one line, about a shepherd who pulled all the way home:
She used to pull my shoulder u til I took her home.
Why most harnesses only solve half the problem
So you switch to a harness. That takes the pull off the neck. That's the half it solves.
The other half is where the leash clips. Most harnesses clip at the back. A dog that pulls just leans into it and keeps going, and you're still the one being towed.
Previously he was pulling like a freight train with a top back clip.
Until completely leash trained I would not recommend putting it on the link on the back because that does not prevent pulling.
And plenty of harnesses sold as "no-pull" don't hold up to a real puller:
We have tried multiple “no-pull” harnesses that did nothing.
He pulled and yanked. I bought a harness at local pet store and He tore it within a week.
This harness replaced one that claimed to stop pulling but didn’t!!
A collar vs. this harness
| A collar | Team K9 no-pull harness | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the leash clips | At the neck | A front V-ring at the chest, plus a back ring |
| Where the pull lands | On the throat | Spread across the chest |
| Close control | The leash only | A reinforced top handle |
| Hardware | One buckle | 4 metal quick-release buckles and metal rings |
What happened on Molly's first walk
The Team K9 harness has a metal V-ring on the chest. Clip the leash there. When your dog surges ahead, the pull turns them back toward your side, and the pressure spreads across the chest instead of the neck.
That's the ring Molly walked on. Amanda filmed the walk:
Molly’s first walk with her no pull harness and you can see the loose leash! What a miracle!!

Other owners saw the same thing on the front ring:
When attached on the front ring, as soon as he starts to walk too far out in front, he not only stops pulling but he turns back towards the person walking him.
I have a 120lb tank of a chocolate English Lab, and on the first walk he stopped pulling.
The first time I used the do t clip she turned immediately back to me. Wow!!!
From the first time using thisTeam K9 harness, my girl walked calmly next to me!!
After adjusting , I hooked the leash to the front clip and he didn’t pull at all.
How to use it on your first walk
- Put it on: over the head, then click the four metal buckles shut and adjust the straps to a close fit.
- Clip the leash to the front V-ring on the chest. That's the ring that turns the pull back toward you.
- Keep the top handle in mind for doorways, crossings and other dogs.
- Use the back ring later, for calm walks once your dog walks nicely.
That's it. No training collar, no special leash. Molly's first walk was on the front ring.
Will it stop my dog from pulling?
The front ring helps redirect the pull toward your side. Many owners see the change on the first walk; some strong pullers still take practice, so use the front ring every time.

More dogs, more walks
Molly isn't the only one. Owners of big, strong pullers told us:
Only harness I found that my 130lbs lab/Great Pyrenees mix doesn’t drag me around like a rag doll or easily escape from.
He’s strong as an ox and can pull me off my feet.
A few minutes into a hike and he was walking beside me not pulling me down the street
My American bully XL no longer pulls and our daily walks are now so much more enjoyable!!
He walks loose leash and ignores other dogs while walking.
Big or small, the fix is the same: clip the leash at the chest.
The front ring isn't even the best part
Ask owners what else they like, and they name the parts you hold and the parts that hold up:
The handle is a great feature that gives me extra guidance control.
Joyce A. has a dog that reacts to other dogs. Here's what the front ring and the handle did for her walks:
When he tries to pull to get to another dog, (he’s dog reactive), it just redirects him to me.
The back handle worked great to physically remove him from another dog.
I love how easy on easy off it is.
It’s durable and the buckles are made of metal!
7 things built into this harness
1. A front V-ring for dogs that pull
Clip the leash at the chest; it helps redirect the pull back toward your side. A back ring is there for calm walks.
2. Pressure across the chest, not the neck
The harness spreads leash pressure across the chest instead of concentrating it at the throat.
3. Four metal quick-release buckles
Metal, not plastic, on every strap, and they click open fast.
4. A reinforced top handle
Grab it for close control at doors, crossings and around other dogs.
5. 1050D nylon with a padded lining
Heavy-duty outside, soft against the chest, with box-stitched joints.
6. Reflective strips
Added visibility on night-time walks.
7. Five sizes, seven colors
For dogs from 15 to 170+ lb, from K9 Black to Pink Camo. It goes over the head and the buckles click shut.
The walks after
Here's what owners say their walks look like now:
I use the front ring and it helps my dog heel better next to me.
He seems to enjoy his harness and time out on walks.
I was able to finally after 2 years and a neck and hand surgery I was able to walk my dog
Walks are great, less pulling
That's the goal: a walk you both look forward to, on a loose leash, like Molly's.
Why owners call it worth every penny
A harness on a puller takes a beating, twice a day, every day. Here's what owners say once the walks add up:
Super heavy duty, super durable, super safe.
The harness design is well crafted and durable.
I purchased this vest and every day the walks are getting measurably better.
No cheap buckles or hooks, well worth the money.
Well worth every penny I spent

The problem: a collar puts the pull on the neck
When a dog lunges on a collar, the whole pull lands on the throat. Your shoulder takes the rest. Dennis K. found out the hard way:
She pulled so hard on her collar she actually needed a vet visit.
Used nothing but leash and collar before on our walks. She would almost always be pulling and lunging.
Why the first harness often doesn't fix it
Many owners switch to a harness and still get dragged. A harness clipped only at the back lets a strong dog lean into the leash. And a cheap one may not last a week:
He pulled and yanked. I bought a harness at local pet store and He tore it within a week.
Until completely leash trained I would not recommend putting it on the link on the back because that does not prevent pulling.

The front ring helps redirect the pull toward your side. Many owners see the change on the first walk; some strong pullers still take practice, so use the front ring every time.
I used to only ever be able to comfortably walk my dog with a pinch collar, I can't believe it but my German/Golden is NOT pulling when I attach to the front chest clip.

Questions before you order
Will it stop my dog from pulling?
The front V-ring is a no-pull design. When your dog pulls forward, a leash clipped to the front helps redirect that momentum back toward your side, which makes it useful for everyday training. Among its five-star reviews, 240+ mention pulling or control.
What size does my dog need?
Start with weight: Extra-Small 15 to 25 lb, Small 25 to 48 lb, Medium 48 to 78 lb, Large 78 to 120 lb, Extra-Large 120 to 170+ lb. Then confirm the chest and midsection measurements in the size guide. If your dog is between sizes, size down. If the first size is not right, size exchanges are free.
Front ring or back ring?
Use the front V-ring when you want help with pulling during training. The back V-ring is built for hand-held leash walks and everyday guidance.
How does it go on?
It goes on in seconds. Fit it over your dog's head, buckle the rear straps and adjust the straps for the right fit.
Is it comfortable in hot weather?
The inside is a soft padded mesh lining that stays breathable in the summer months, and the vest spreads leash pressure across the chest instead of the neck.
Can I add patches and pouches?
Yes. The harness has hook and loop panels for patches and MOLLE webbing for pouches. Right here you can add custom name patches (a printed pair with your dog's name and your phone number), a 12-patch pack, or single patches before you add to cart.
Can I leave my dog tied out in it?
No. It is made for supervised walks and training, not for tie-outs, yard stakes, ziplines or unattended tethering.
