Case study: a 40 lb “power puller” and the no-pull harnesses that kept twisting
What Taylor V. tried with Tillie, what changed on a 2-mile hike, and what it costs. In Taylor's own words throughout.

Case file
- The dog
- Tillie, a 40 lb Staffy mix with a broad chest and smaller ribs
- The problem
- Pulls hard. Every “no-pull” harness they tried twisted across her chest.
- What was tried
- Multiple “no-pull” harnesses
- What changed
- The Team K9 Tactical No-Pull Harness, on a bungee leash
- The result
- On a 2-mile hike: “it was an incredible difference”
The problem
Taylor calls Tillie “a power puller to the extreme.” The harnesses that were supposed to help made it worse:
We have tried multiple “no-pull” harnesses that did nothing. All of them immediately stretched out and twisted across her chest, which she would fight and end up walking sideways.
Then came the bigger worry:
I was getting concerned for her shoulders, as the torsion from the harness twisting and pulling could cause long-term damage.
What was tried
More harnesses, each one sold as “no-pull.” None of them stayed straight on Tillie, and every one of them cost money:
These harnesses are expensive, but at this point I had spent the same amount trying multiple other harnesses.
What changed
Taylor put Tillie in the Team K9 Tactical No-Pull Harness, clipped on a bungee leash, and took her on a 2-mile hike:
All I can say is wow - we tried it on a 2 mile hike yesterday, and it was an incredible difference. The bungee in the leash kept her from pulling, and redirected her back enough that she would actually come and check in with us.

The check-in was the part Taylor had not seen before:
We are almost never able to get her attention while she’s on her leash outside, and her recall is terrible. This is such a great training tool already!
Why it helps: how the harness is built
Here is what is different about this harness, from the way it is made:
A front ring for dogs that pull
Clip the leash to the front V-ring. When your dog pulls forward, it helps redirect that momentum back toward your side.
Pressure across the chest, not the neck
The vest spreads leash pressure across the chest instead of concentrating it at the neck.
Built for strong dogs
1050D nylon, box-stitched joints, four quick-release metal buckles and metal leash rings.
Padded, adjustable, quick to put on
A soft padded lining and adjustable straps. It goes over the head, the rear straps buckle, and you adjust it to fit.
A top handle
For close control at doorways, crossings and busy places.
It actually fits the width of her broad chest while fastening tight enough around her smaller ribs.

★★★★★“I hooked the leash to the front clip and he didn’t pull at all. Previously he was pulling like a freight train with a top back clip.”

★★★★★“I love the no pull front clip. When he tries to pull to get to another dog, (he’s dog reactive), it just redirects him to me.”

★★★★★“Now he’s wearing it all the time and he enjoys our walks without the pulling and tugs that we had experienced with the leash and collar”

★★★★★This harness fits Shiloh well, looks great, and has really cut back on his pulling!

★★★★★Jade’s vest fits great. We love the new pink camo on her. Also love this new one with the metal buckles on all of the straps. Her last one had plastic buckles & one cracked a while back so we couldn’t use it.

★★★★★We love the harness. After a few minor adjustments on our first few walks it’s perfect. Extremely secure, tough and durable. All things required with a staffy that’s 88 lbs of muscle. Also highly recommend the leash as well. Would buy again 100%

★★★★★It is so easy to put on and take off. The metal buckles are heavy duty.

★★★★★Great well made harness that has made walking my German Shepherd’s a joy. I feel more in control of them with both dogs pulling less than with a traditional lead.

Questions before you order
Will it stop my dog from pulling?
The front V-ring is a no-pull design. When your dog pulls forward, a leash clipped to the front helps redirect that momentum back toward your side, which makes it useful for everyday training. Among its five-star reviews, 240+ mention pulling or control.
What size does my dog need?
Start with weight: Extra-Small 15 to 25 lb, Small 25 to 48 lb, Medium 48 to 78 lb, Large 78 to 120 lb, Extra-Large 120 to 170+ lb. Then confirm the chest and midsection measurements in the size guide. If your dog is between sizes, size down. If the first size is not right, size exchanges are free.
Front ring or back ring?
Use the front V-ring when you want help with pulling during training. The back V-ring is built for hand-held leash walks and everyday guidance.
How does it go on?
It goes on in seconds. Fit it over your dog's head, buckle the rear straps and adjust the straps for the right fit.
Is it comfortable in hot weather?
The inside is a soft padded mesh lining that stays breathable in the summer months, and the vest spreads leash pressure across the chest instead of the neck.
Can I add patches and pouches?
Yes. The harness has hook and loop panels for patches and MOLLE webbing for pouches. Right here you can add custom name patches (a printed pair with your dog's name and your phone number), a 12-patch pack, or single patches before you add to cart.
Can I leave my dog tied out in it?
No. It is made for supervised walks and training, not for tie-outs, yard stakes, ziplines or unattended tethering.
