Choose one safe sniff spot before your dog pulls you into every stop.
Count to 20.
Let them investigate without rushing, crowding, or turning it into a negotiation.
Move on calmly.
Use your normal cue, turn your body forward, and keep walking.
The point is not to stop at every smell.
The point is to give your dog one fair moment to check the world, then give yourself a clean way to continue the walk.
