Tactical and Classic harnesses

The quick answer.

Find your dog's weight in the chart and pick that size. Between two sizes? Choose the smaller one. The adjustable straps cover the in-between. The one exception: a puppy that is still growing should get the larger size.

Before you order

Not sure what your dog weighs?

  1. Check your last vet visit. Weight is recorded at almost every appointment, and recent is fine. Adult dogs rarely move a full size class between checkups.
  2. Use the bathroom scale trick. Weigh yourself, then weigh yourself holding your dog, and subtract. It works for any dog you can safely pick up.
  3. For big dogs, stop by a pet store. Most large pet stores have a free walk-on scale near the front, and it doubles as a confidence-building outing.

When the harness arrives

The 2-minute fit check.

  1. Set the straps before the first walk. Clip all four quick-release buckles and adjust each strap so the harness sits level across the chest and back without sagging.
  2. Use the two-finger rule. You should be able to slide two flat fingers under any strap. Looser than that invites shifting; tighter can rub.
  3. Watch the first few minutes. A well-fitted harness stays centered when your dog pulls, shakes, or sits. If it rotates or slides, snug the side straps and check again.

Sizing questions we hear most.

What if my dog is between two sizes?

Choose the smaller size. The straps adjust about 7–10 inches, so a snug fit is easy to dial in, and a harness that is too large lets a dog back out. The one exception: a puppy that has not finished growing should get the larger size.

Do the Upgraded and Classic harnesses use the same sizes?

No. The weight ranges differ between the two models, and the Upgraded harness adds an Extra-Small for dogs from 15 LB. Always check the chart for the specific harness you are ordering.

How tight should the harness be?

Snug enough that it stays centered when your dog moves, loose enough to slide two flat fingers under every strap. Recheck after the first walk, since new straps can settle slightly.

What if the size I ordered does not fit?

We offer free size exchanges for our dog harnesses within 60 days. Start the swap in Order Help, or read how exchanges work.

Will the hard bottom seat cover fit my vehicle?

If your back seat is a bench, almost certainly. Large fits sedans, 4-door coupes, SUVs, crossovers, hatchbacks, minivans, vans, station wagons and Jeeps. Extra-Large is made for extended cab, crew cab and full-size pickups, light to heavy duty. For captain's chairs or bucket seats, the Single Seat Cover is the better match.

Not sure of the size? Order anyway.
